Dear side chick/back up plan/ second choice, spare tyre, mpango wa kando. So you mean to tell me that you are being loyal to a man who is already committed? Do you hear how stupid that sounds?

If you are dating a man knowing that he is in a committed relationship with another woman you’ve got it twisted.

Below are 11 things you should know

1. Side chicks do not get to become main chicks- there is no promotion in this field of work. Any man will put a ring on the ‘overplayed toy’ type of woman, move her into his house and change her name. But no man can mold you into the commonly desired house-wife/ wife material. The ‘overplayed toy’ mentality just never leaves.

2. There is a reason he wants her but you! - The partner a man chooses is always a direct reflection of you. no man will want to wife someone that has been around the flats in Nairobi county because it makes them look bad, weak and stupid for choosing a woman who had what is viewed in the society as ‘bad morals’

3. The man who sleeps around is considered a ‘player’ but a woman who does the same is exiled to the whore tag for life.

4. You are an over-played toy that he will eventually release.

5. You are an assistant girlfriend.

6. He likes you but he will never claim you or pay taxes on you.

7. If he is cheating now he will or is cheating on you.

8. You are not making him happy. If he were happy with just you, then he would not have the need to still be with the one he loves.

9. He does not love you- if he did, then he would stop playing games and make you his own.

10. Being good in bed will not make him stay and leave his home- he may stray for a while but home is where his heart really is.

11. A few nice purses and vacations do not mean that he loves you- you are his fun girl and as soon as you stop providing the fun, you will be gone with the wind.

Don’t be a side chick catching a main chick’s feelings. Wake up and walk away. If you can run like the wind when your dignity is still intact and do not forget to carry your brain with you. Finally, go find a man who is not attached. If you decide to stay, then hey that’s’ you.
